During an al fresco dinner, surrounded by rice paddies and vanilla vines stretching as far as the eye could see, as the clock struck 9.50pm and dusk darkened the mountainous horizon, the landscape lit up with thousands of tea candles. Twinkling in the Javanese night, the landscape resembles a waking dream: a reverie—a moment of clarity and reinvention, anchored in the organic purity of the landscape and its winds of change.
