One of the earliest fragrance composed by Ben Gorham for BYREDO, the hair perfume Bal d'Afrique is a true love letter to Africa. A perfume wanting to sum up and celebrate the reach and influence of Africa through time, particularly the way its myriad cultures have shaped dance, art and music, the idea of an imaginary event. It is also an ode to his father, who lived and travelled in Africa for about 15 years, a journey the perfumer discovered by reading his diaries.
